World youth championships in Morocco

Dakar, April 7 - The Moroccan city of Marrakesh will stage the 2005 world youth championships, the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) announced here Sunday.
Marrakesh had been in competition with Moscow for the right to host the event but the Russian capital withdrew its bid.
The IAAF council gave its approval after hearing from a delegation including representatives of the Moroccan government, National Athletics Federation and the current women's 400m hurdles world champion Nezha Bidouane.
The competition will be held July 14-17, 2005.
