Blast near Mosul police station

Mosul, Iraq, Sept 22 - A car exploded Monday outside a police station in the northern city of Mosul, leaving several casualties, witnesses here said.
The explosion occurred about 1:35 pm (0935 gmt) outside the Alnaser police station in Mosul, according to Amar Ahmad, 41, a university professor.
Ahmad and a colleague, Khalid Mahmud, 47, said the explosion produced several casualties, many of them serious. There was no official confirmation either from Iraqi authorities or the US military.
