Ankara, Sept 22 - The chairmen of the two main pro-Kurdish parties in Turkey have been detained by police investigating a controversial Kurdish festival held earlier this month in Germany, party officials said on Monday. Ahmet Turan Demir, who heads the newly-formed free society party(Ozgur Toplum), was taken from his home late on Sunday and was due to testify before a state security court prosecutor on Monday, the party's deputy chairman Hayriates told AFP. "We believe this is a political lynching move. We are concerned that he was taken away from his home at night when the prosecutor could have just called him in for questioning during the day," Ates said. The chairman of the democratic people's party (dehap), Tuncer Bakirhan, was detained on Monday when he went to the police headquarters in Ankara in reponse to a summons from the prosecutor to testify, the party's spokesman told AFP.
