Cairo, Sept 22 - An Egyptair flight aborted its take off for Denmark on Monday after Cairo airport authorities received a bomb threat that turned out to be a hoax, officials said.
The pilot steered the Airbus A-320 back to the parking apron so that the 116 passengers could disembark and security officers aided by sniffer dogs could search the aircraft, but they found nothing, an airport official said.
An anonymous caller had telephoned the airport, saying a bomb was aboard the Egyptian national carrier's flight 783 for Copenhagen, prompting the control tower to urge the pilot to abort take off.
The plane finally took off after a delay of two and a half hours, an airport official said.
