Qods, Aug 1 - Arab-Israeli legislators Friday were preparing an appeal to the supreme court of a new law that will make it nearly impossible for Palestinians to get Israeli citizenship by marrying an Israeli.
The Israeli Knesset (parliament), dominated by the right-wing coalition of Premier Ariel Sharon, passed the bill Thursday evening.
Arab-Israeli legislators immediately told reporters they would file a judicial appeal.
The law will make it impossible for Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza Strip who marry an Arab-Israeli partner to receive permanent residence in Israel.
Children of "mixed" families will be ineligible for a "resident visa", exempting them from education or medical treatment.
