Baghdad, Aug 2 - The two sons of Ormer Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, Uday and Qusay, were buried in their home town Tikrit, the Arabic news channel Al-Jazeera reported Saturday.
The bodies of the brothers, who had been killed on July 22 by United States troops after a prolonged battle in Mosul, were wrapped in Iraqi flags and lowered into a family grave, the report said.
After displaying the corpses to the media, the U.S. military had handed them over to the Iraqi Red Crescent society.
The Hussein family clan and other Iraqis had requested that they be released for burial according to Islamic tradition. Uday and Qusay had been hiding with a relative in Mosul when the U.S. military was tipped of their whereabouts.
