Kuwait City, Aug 2 - Kuwait's Foreign Minister here on Saturday in an interview praised the Islamic Republic of Iran's decisive role in promotion of peace and stability in the region.

The newly appointed Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Muhammad Sabah As-Salem As-Sabah said that against some foreign countries' accusations, Iranian leaders' wise policy making have turned that country to a constant party in crisis solving, and promotion of regional peace and stability.

According to Kuwait's official news agency KUNA, Sheikh Muhammad Sabah made the comments in an interview with a Lebanese periodical, adding, "The excellent cooperation of the Iranian officials during the Afghanistan and Iraq crises is sufficient proof to that claim."

He added, "We have full trust in the Iranian President Mohammad Khatami, who is the representative of the vast majority of the Iranian nation."

The Kuwaiti top diplomat said, "We are sure that President Khatami will manage to solve the nuclear crisis with which Iran is currently entangled, resorting to the related international laws and the mediation of the United Nations, quite peacefully."

Sheikh Muhammad Sabah further reiterated, "Iran naturally is entitled to take peaceful advantage of the nuclear power and there is no doubt about that."
