Ahmedabad, Aug 3 - A blast caused a three-story building to collapse in India's western state of Gujarat early Sunday, killing six people and injuring 30, a police spokesman said.
The explosion -- caused by a cooking gas cylinder -- in the city of Surat, 250 kilometres (155 miles) from Gujarat's commercial capital Ahmedabad, was so powerful that two adjoining buildings also collapsed.
The injured were admitted to three hospitals in the city and some of them were in a serious condition, the spokesman said.
Police and fire personnel were carrying out rescue operations, he added.
